Ocker: noun, A rough, uncultivated Australian man.
These plans include 19 pages of working drawings needed to build your own OzzyOcker! All measurements, a cut list, and a parts list are all provided. The working drawings is all you really need, however I highly recommend watching all of my video series detailing the build over on my YouTube Channel "Kuffys Woodwork" before commencing with your own build. (Videos yet to be produced and published. ETA beginning late December 2019). A full step by step illustrated document will be provided alongside the plans when my bench has been completed in early 2020.
All dimensions are in metric millimeters (mm). (2100 x 660 x 900mm)
Plans last updated: 11/01/2020
**** An illustrated set of instructions will be produced after we finish filming the first OzzyOcker bench build. These will accompany the plans and those that have already purchased the plans will be able to download the instructions when they are available by logging into your account and downloading the new files in the orders page. ****
Why would I build a OzzyOcker?
The OzzyOcker is a great workbench! Using simple engineering, it overcomes the need for massive joinery while still remaining rock solid and free from racking along the length. It also incorporates a split top design which is easily removed from the base structure if you ever need to flatten the tops again (straight through the thicknesser and you're done in a flash!).
Can I use my own vice hardware?
Yes you can! Some modifications may need to be made to the right overhang length to accommodate a larger, bulkier end vice. A wooden screw leg vice can be incorporated to the current design without the need for any changes. The HNT Gordon vices are really nice though.
I want to build an OzzyOcker, but I want mine to be bigger/smaller?
If you followed the video series, you will have been shown how you can make the bench longer or shorter or higher/lower fairly easily. If you are still having trouble, or you just want some confirmation, feel free to email me using the contact form on this website.
Will you answer any of my questions I may have, or will you take my money and leave me high and dry!?
As always, I am willing to help where ever possible within reason. I can help you solve issues arising from having undersized material, or you accidentally cut the rails to the shoulder length instead of the overall length.
Will I be able to access updated plans at a later date after purchase?
Yes! If I find any mistakes or missing information, I will update the plans immediately and the new file will be available for download by logging into your account and navigating to the 'orders' section. From their you can select your plan purchase from the history and download the new updated set of plans.
I built a bench using your plans! Wanna see it?
Yes! Yes I do. Please send me an email with links to your image gallery. I really love seeing other peoples work.
No refunds will be issued for digital download plans.
If you are having trouble, please get in contact with us as soon as possible. Thanks.
